Job Description
Job Summary:
The QC Technician - Precision Optical Elements will be responsible for the incoming and in-process inspection of precision optical elements (lenses and mirrors) for Infrared Imaging systems. Inspection also entails detailed review and approval of compliance data and supporting evidence. Typical inspection includes Scratch/Dig per MIL-PRF-13830B, as well as workmanship and mechanical attributes.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Measure materials and products with precision measurement equipment as required.
- Inspect the surface quality (Scratch/Dig) and other attributes of optical elements per MIL-PRF-13830
- Reviews Supplier inspection data for compliance to technical and contractual requirements
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications and workmanship; conducts visual and measurement tests; works with supervisors for dispositioning unacceptable materials.
- Approves products in-process by confirming specifications and workmanship; conducts visual and measurement tests; works with supervisors for dispositioning unacceptable materials.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications and workmanship; conducts visual and measurement tests; works with supervisors for dispositioning unacceptable materials.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; files data in accordance with procedures.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; arranges for repairs.
- May perform source inspections at suppliers' sites
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.
Job Qualifications:
- 3+ Years experience in inspection of optical elements per MIL-PRF-13830B for defense and commercial applications. Experience with infrared optics preferable.
- High attention to detail
- Familiarity with optical fabrication processes and technologies
- Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspections requirements
Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce
Salary Range:
$62,800.00-$83,700.000
