Electrical Engineer
Location: South Madison, WIA growing client in the Madison area is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of custom electrical power distribution buildings (“E‑Houses”) fordata centers, renewable energy projects, and utility/grid infrastructure. This is a strong opportunity for an engineer who wants ownership of electrical design work within a rapidly expanding segment of the power systems industry.
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for full‑cycle electrical design, equipment specification, and delivery of project‑ready electrical drawing packages and EBOMs. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to ensure designs are accurate, buildable, and aligned with project requirements.Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design for custom E‑House and power distribution projects from concept through production.
- Develop electrical design intent, equipment specifications, and electrical bills of materials (EBOMs).
- Provide direction for drawing packages while a dedicated design team supports drafting work (schematics, wiring diagrams, one‑lines, etc.).
- Identify and resolve design issues uncovered during design reviews and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Work with production and manufacturing teams to support build activities and ensure design accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Maintain strong communication with project management and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in electrical design engineering, project engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
- Knowledge of electrical power systems, electrical standards, and applicable codes.
- Experience creating and managing bills of materials (BOMs).
- Familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
- Experience with medium‑voltage or low‑voltage power distribution equipment is a plus.
